Rehabilitation of degraded land to increase soil carbon storage in north west Queensland

The Rehabilitation of degraded land to increase soil carbon storage in Northwest Queensland project trialed and demonstrated innovative on-farm practices that may lead to increased  sequestration of carbon in soil and thereby increased infiltration and reduced erosion and runoff.  Trials were conducted on three cattle properties in the Southern Gulf region, north west Queensland. Management and grazing practices included: wet season spell, shallow water pondage, spiral ploughing and shallow ripping.
