The area being regenerated was eroded early in the 1970s as a result of overgrazing, causing the loss of topsoil and the formation of a small gully. The PDS began in 2009 and five different types of mechanical regeneration were demonstrated including closed and open water ponds, water spreader banks, crocodile plough and opposed disc plough.
A paddock walk to mark the completion of the investigation and present results to local producers occurred in April 2012.
