FutureBeef podcast, episode 8: Prioritising pasture performance
Taking on any type of renovation project can be an eyewatering experience — so thankfully when it comes to your pasture there’s plenty of help at hand.
When third generation Central Queensland grazier Warren Luhrs noticed his pastures weren’t performing like they used to, he took matters into his own hands, turning to the Queensland Department of Primary Industries’ Stuart Buck to get things back on track. What followed has been an extraordinary turnaround of his production and business, but also a valuable study of pasture varieties.
Futurebeef is a collaborative project for the northern Australia beef industry and partners include the Queensland Department of Primary Industries, the Northern Territory Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development Western Australia and Meat & Livestock Australia. The Queensland Pasture Resilience Program is a partnership between the Department of Primary Industries, Meat & Livestock Australia, and the Australian Government through the MLA Donor Company.
